Partyage & Stuff Going On

Mayor's Office of Special Events The City of Chicago's official site showing the major upcoming events calendars, and also a very comprehensive listing of neighborhood street festivals (TBA for 2005) and other special events.
Metromix.com The Tribune Company's site which contains a searchable treasure trove of movie, restaurant, live music, and other information about stuff to do in Chicago.
Chicago Reader The online version of the immensely popular weekly publication which includes all sorts of information on entertainment, dining, classifieds, and even some pretty interesting articles.
Great Doings This recently-restaged website is published by our friend Sean Byrne. It's a massive email but has nearly everything going on of interest to the Near Northside young professional crowd.
Blend Chicago This site focuses more on the club scene but does also have a peppering of other interesting events too.
Brew & View One of my favorite movie theaters, located in the Vic Theater (Belmont & Sheffield), an old 1920's Vaudeville stage which is now an alternative concert venue, and they show movies there on the other nights. Two fully stocked bars in the back ensure the comedies are even funnier than in a regular theater.
Hash House Harriers (Chicago City Main, Chicago Thursdays, Chicago Suburbs and Milwaukee) Like to run? Like to drink beer? This is a worldwide organization which bills itself as "a drinking club with a running problem". Frequent outings (called "hashes") which consist of a short 3-5 mile run, followed by much drinking of beer. Lots of fun and one of my favorite new hobbies.
MEETinCHICAGO: A not-for-profit social club where members plan various social events in and around the City of Chicago for the purpose of having fun and meeting new people.
Citysearch.com's list of Bar Specials from my buddy Steve. Great for those of us reeling from the implosion of our Lucent, Nortel, Microsoft, and Motorola positions.

City of Chicago Official Site Everything you ever wanted to know about the city government, including stuff on City Stickers and Residential Parking Permits (the useful stuff) and much more.
Chicago Transit Authority Everything you ever wanted to know about the CTA, its services and routes, schedules, fares, etc.
Chicago Metra Traveling outside city limits? Find routes, timetables, and ticket prices for the Metra's entire system here.
Chicago Traffic Congestion Provided by IDOT (Illinois Dept. of Transportation) showing real time traffic times so you can see how bad your drive is going to be. Gotta love technology.
Chicago Area Weather One of the better weather sites out there by Intellicast. The radar loops are especially cool.
Illinois Secretary of State Need plates, a driver's license or renewal? Here's all the info including SOS office locations and hours.
Illinois Tollway Looking to get an I-Pass (for those that don't have one and use the Tollways even only occasionally, there is absolutely no reason not to have one!) or other info about the Tollway system, find it here!
City of Chicago Parking and Standing Violations List. All the fun things you can get tickets for in the City of Chicago. Includes a lot of bizarre and seldom enforced stuff.
