Picture(s) of the Week!

As Always You Can Also Find Last Week's Fridge Door Pictures of the Week on the PPC Home Page - Click Here

Here's a picture of the crew at Kristen's happy hour last Friday night at Duffy's. More pix from this weekend kickoff can be found here.

Weekly Feature(s):

  • NPR Time Kill of the Week: 'Alcoholica Esoterica': The Culture of Drinking. Renee Montagne talks to Ian Lendler, author of Alcoholica Esoterica, about the culture of booze and the basic groups: whiskey, rum, tequila and more.

    Or buy the book itself @ Amazon

  • Internet Time Kill of the Week: How to Reach a Live Person by Phone. ABC News recently had a segment about Paul English, a man who was tired of the hassle one must go through these days to reach a live person over the phone.  It's common knowledge that you must all too often go through numerous voice mail menus, and even then, you might still not reach a live person.

    He went through the trouble of determining how to reach a live person for a great many companies and government agencies.  The list is available at: http://paulenglish.com/ivr/

    He explained that for some companies, when you press "0" and are told that you have pressed an invalid option, if you keep pressing "0" (depending on the company), you will reach a live person. These are clearly indicated on his sheets.

Friday, February 10: John Corry's Happy Hour @ Cherry Red

HAPPY HOUR

WHERE: Cherry Red 2833 Sheffield (& George)

WHEN: Friday Feb 10th 7:30 to 10:30 and on…

WHAT DO I GET:  well drinks, wine, pop, miller lite bottles, stoli drinks, pizza and love potion #9 shots.  Also, Ryan See is back to play for us with a DJ afterwards!

HOW MUCH: THE USUAL $ 25.00 with $5 going directly to charity.

Hello everyone,

It’s Valentine’s Day soon!  Any plans?  Maybe the Olive Garden and some flowers from White Hen??  Flippin sweet!   I have a much naughtier idea…  Cherry Red.  It’s cheaper than dinner and flowers, and your special gal will thank you for it!  Last year I was handcuffed to my soul mate for 20 minutes.  Every time I asked her something she was so sweet and said OK OK.  After she found the key I realized she was saying Go AWAY GO AWAY! Never the less, we had our moment and I miss you, you complete me wherever you are.

Last years party at Cherry Red was a blast!  It has a ton of room and the special is pretty good.  Who are you crapping anyway Cupid! Your friends have forced dates and you have a chance to let your arrow flow instead of always “rosining up your bow”…    Also this charity is so much fun that I decided to do it again.  A family with no money and almost no way to pay for their child’s cancer treatments are going to get our anonymous donation!  Get there early and don’t forget to find your famous couple matching sticker so you can find that someone special…  See you there!

John Corry
