Hope everyone ate their fill at Thanksgiving, because now it's time for the PPC's Winter Flagship and largest event of the year, the 8th Annual 12 Bars of Christmas Neighborhood Pub Crawl in Lincoln Park which kicks off this Saturday at 4pm at River Shannon (425 W. Armitage). As always, wristbands for the drink specials are free, and we'll have some free Santa Hats for the early birds. See above for details.

We are headed for a night of gambling featuring Texas Hold-Em Poker at the newly remodeled Harrah's Casino in East Chicago, IN. Starting at Duffy's Tavern on Diversey, we will be drinking and dining from 6pm until 7pm. They will be providing the usual all you can eat appetizers for us. Then we will board the bus at 7pm sharp and take it to Harrah's!

Once at Harrah's you can gamble as much or as little as you choose. Money to gamble with is your own responsibility. You are responsible for your own winnings and losses. There will be reserved Texas Hold-Em tables waiting for our group when we arrive. Of course, feel free to take advantage of all the games and great atmosphere that Harrah's has to offer. At about 11pm we will get back on the shuttle busses and head back up to Duffy's. The great news about Duffy's is they have a deal with the hospital around the corner. There is a parking lot on Sheridan just north of Diversey that you can park in (St. Joe's Hospital lot). Get a token at Duffy's for $3.50 and park all night long! What a deal for us!

Friday, December 3: Bar1Events Holiday Soap Drive at McGee's

Holiday Soap (Yeah, Soap!) Drive!

This Friday, December 3, we're putting a "clean" twist on our Holiday Food Drive. We need soap, toothpaste and other toiletries for our needy families, so bring in some suds and we'll pour you some suds! From 8:30-11:30pm, it's just $10 (with a donation of a toiletry/$15 without) for a meal package that includes a buffet, domestic drafts, well drinks and soda. Let's party for a good cause!

 

Friday, December 3 & Saturday, December 4: Deck The Halls Concert at Old St. Pat's

Deck The Hall will be held December 3 and 4 at 7:30 p.m. Deck The Hall is a beautiful candlelit holiday concert in the Church with the Metropolis Symphony Orchestra and the Old St. Patrick's Holiday Choir. Enjoy solo performances by Rodrick Dixon, Alfreda Burke and some of Old St. Pat's favorite vocalists!

Two different ticket packages are offered. Tickets for the concert are $45.

Tickets for the concert and the post-performance dessert and cocktail reception in the Hall are $65. Sponsorship packages are also available both nights for this festive event.

The Tradition Continues! What started out in December of 1997 as just a handful of friends joking around that we should go a 12-Bar tear to kill time on a Friday night in Lincoln Park has mushroomed into one of the largest free pub crawls in the City of Chicago with the event attracting over 300+ participants in 2003!

Although there have been evolutionary changes along the way, like moving the event onto Saturday night (so more folks could attend), free wristbands, and of course, pre-negotiated drink specials, our core traditions remain the same... good friends, good drinks, good times, and even some free Santa Hats for the early birds.

And even though this event has grown to one of the largest private pub crawls in the city, to this day we don't collect one penny from our friends for this event, as we do not wish to make your charitable giving decision for you by collecting on someone else's behalf. We think it's great that others do (so please be generous to the charity of your choice), but that's just not what we're all about. We're here to party!

Saturday, December 4: Bar1Events Charity Poker Run

Join us for Jack Sullivan's first-ever Holiday Charity Poker Run this Saturday, December 4, from 3-8pm. It's just $20 (with a toy donation/$30 without) for a meal package that includes a buffet, domestic drafts, well drinks, and a bus from Jack Sullivan's to McGee's, Duffy's, Durkin's, Wrightwood Tap and back to Jack Sullivan's. At each bar, you'll get a playing card and whoever has the winning "hand" upon returning to Jack Sullivan's wins a prize! (Note: this is NOT a poker tournament!) Saturday, December 11: Festa's TBOX9 in Wrigleyville

This is the other big 12 Bars of Xmas pub crawl in Chicago and it's massive. Well over a thousand people attend this 12-15 bar behemoth in Wrigleyville. Cost is approx $22 (w/fee) and includes a badge and customized baseball cap as well specials at each bar which are pay-as-you go. Pre-registration highly recommended and available online at:

Saturday, December 11, Durkin's is throwing a great party to support our troops, but we need your help! The $20 meal package includes a buffet and all drafts from 4-7pm, and for all those who join the fun, 40% of all proceeds will be used to send holiday care packages to our troops, so don't miss it!
